A3 typography illustration looking at the effects of cropping letterforms and how it can enhance the impact of the letter as a purely visual shape. Used as a double page spread in a book layout.
Buck Danny

Drawing as part of a series of typographic illustrations depicting the names of various comic series. Done as part of the website design for a collector of original comic artwork. Final composition in the lettering section and also coming soon on the live website.
EPC Hungary
July 2011
Development sketches for the design of custom serif lettering for the EPC Hungary logo (see various logos for final piece). The goal was a relatively heavy serif with an overall narrower width than most classic serif typefaces.
Noisy
April 2008
A3 illustration used as a double page spread in the Painting with Words book design. Quotation is by Susan Sontag and reads, "The art of our time is noisy with appeals for silence." In contrast, the 'silence' drawing on the following page was very small and on an entirely white background.
What
November 2010
Typographic doodle in a very light, elaborate style full of loops and curves. Extreme use of contrast and hairline strokes to link the letters and the question mark.
