Arrived

December 2010

Arrived is a newly launched mobile application looking for a unique custom typography logo. Particularly interested in a script typeface, Arrived wanted to evoke movement, importance and a strong personal feel.

I started experimenting with quick, rough sketches to capture a strong dynamic feel. In terms of reserach, The final design is inspired by a cross between natural handwriting and casual brush scripts. The uppercase 'A' combined with the underline serves to communicate a sense of importance and priority. The subtle upwards curve of the word along with the slightly varying letter size adds to the movement of the script.

Alternate versions included a design loosely inspired by travel posters and graphics from the 1920s and 30s. The overall style is more reminiscent of handwriting in order to relate to the personal focus of the application.

As requested, various versions with different effects were also created in order to give a luxurious, velvety feel.
